Moorehead Beach

Moorehead Beach – South Coast NSW

Bermagui’s second beach, Moorehead Beach, runs along the north side of Bermagui.. It’s great for swimming, fishing and jogging or walking.

Where is Moorehead Beach? – When you head into Bermagui, you’ll notice a small set of shops on the left hand side just before the bridge. Turn left at Wapengo St and you will notice small car parks and bush tracks.

Swimming – Moorehead Beach is a perfect beach for swimming. The beach can be protected from strong southerly winds and waves are rarely above a metre.  As you head towards the harbour there’s a beautiful little beach area which is nestled between the breakwater. Perfect for families.

Fishing at Moorehead Beach – Fishing at dusk is the key. The main area along the beach have plentiful mulloway, bream, flathead and the occasional gummy sharks. The Bermagui River meets the ocean at the southern end and is a great location for fishing. The breakwater creates a great launching pad. Keep an eye out for the occasional dolphin

Picnic – There is a car park and plenty of amenities.
