Kianinny Bay – Sapphire Coast NSW
Kianinny Bay is the boat-launching ramp for Tathra. This was the original port for the area, before the Tathra Wharf was built. Not great for swimming, it is however a fantastic location, for picnics, launching boats and is the where the Kangarutha Walking Track commences.
Where is Kianinny Bay? Located 1.5 kms south of Tathra head. 5 -10 minutes’ drive from south of Tathra.
Swimming – Due to the incoming and outgoing boats, Kianninny Bay isn’t great for swimming. If you’re advantageous and enjoy snorkelling there may be some opportunities.
Fishing – Again the incoming and outgoing boats can make fishing rather frustrating. However there is some good rocky positions. Bream, Flathead and Leatherjackets are frequent in the area.
Picnic – Plenty of amenities. 50 car spots and beautiful bushland make it an ideal location for a BBQ with family and friends.
