Murrah Beach – Sapphire Coast NSW
About 12 kilometres south of Bermagui is Murrah Beach, and it’s a beauty! Perfect for swimming, fishing and surfing.
Where is Murrah Beach – Mimosa National Park? – It’s about 12 kilometres south of Bermagui, along the Tathra Bermagui Road. From there take Hergenhans Road towards Goalen Heads, follow the road and you’ll see a large water tank with “beach” written on it.
Swimming – Murrah Beach backs on to Murrah Lagoon, which is a large body of water filled by the Murrah River. Murrah Lagoon is relatively shallow and makes an ideal swimming spot. Be careful as there is a narrow deep channel, which has a strong rips. The beach itself is ideal.
Fishing – – Bream, flathead, mulloway, redfin, leatherjackets and the occasional gummy sharks are the dominate species. The edges of the deep channel along the Murrah Lagoon is a good spot, best time around dusk.
Picnic – There’s a large flat grass area overlooking the beach, however no amenities.
