Bittangabee Campsite – Far South Coast NSW
How to get to Bittangabee campground? Located at the Southern end of the ben Boyd National Park
Travel south from Eden on the Princes Highway for 18km, Turn off at Edrom Road and follow it for 6km, Turn right onto Green Cape Road and follow it for 15km
Roads –Unsealed Roads – accessible by 2WD’s.
Cost – Campsites – site fee: $20 per night (2-person inclusive). $10 per night per additional adult (16 years+) Vehicle entry fee: $7 per vehicle per day. Please note vehicle entrance fees are not included in your accommodation or camping fees. All fees are an honesty system.
Facilities – picnic tables, wood barbecues gas/electric barbecues, pit toilets, carpark, trackhead/access point
Activities –bushwalking (forms part of the Light to Light walk) Canoeing. Swimming, Surfing snorkelling, fishing, picnicking.
A Camping Experience –The perfect bush/beach camping experience. There is a nice protected beach for the kids to swim and numerous fishing locations.
There is easy access to the water but both are a fair trek on dirt roads to get to. For those looking to become one with nature, this is ideal. The bird’s life is amazing with lyrebirds, bellbirds, Australian King-Parrot, Azure Kingfishers, Crimson Rosellas, Rainbow Lorikeets, Sulphur-crested Cockatoos, Galahs, and the laughing Kookaburras.
Wallaby’s, Kangaroos and giant goanna’s also called the campsite home. Be careful of the monitor lizards and be sure to keep all your rubbish locked away.
