Boat Hire – Hire a boat from the wharf opposite the pub (not far from the bridge). Good boats allow you to fish the top lake properly.
Where to Fish? Best spots are usually around the channel near the entrance. Low tides give you easy access and there are some great flathead, bream and trevally.
There is great sand spit behind the top lake boat hire, you can fish for some top whiting, and flathead on an incoming tide.
There is an artificial reef (GPS -36.899117, 149.888588) put in the lake which is starting to come together fine.
If you fish up the back of the lake around the leases near the houses at Millingandi you will find good whiting and bream which love scrimps and live worms.
Dominate Fish Species – Dusty Flathead, bream, luderick, trevaly and whiting.
