Surrounded by deep lush South Coast forest, Six mile creek is the perfect camping ground if you’re looking for peaceful seclusion amongst the heart of Australian bush.


 

Location – 500kms drive (5.12hrs) south east of Sydney – 633kms drive (6.55hrs drive) north east of Melbourne.
From Bega, drive south along the Princes Highway and turn right onto Bega Candelo Road. After about 9km you’ll reach Candelo – cross the bridge, turn left and then turn right into Tantawangalo Mountain Road.

Nearest Town – Candelo which is a 29min drive north


Please note – Drinking water and rubbish bins are not available.


Highlights
Head to the Bombala River in the early morning or late afternoon to see platypuses – look for circular ripple patterns in the water.

Open fire at historic Alexanders Hut, Nunnocks Swap. A slab dwelling that provides shelter and basic facilities for campers. You can also set up a tent in the grounds around the hut.
