Bournda Beach

Bournda Beach – Sapphire Coast NSW

Bournda Beach is about 2 kilometres long and backs on to 2 substanitail bodies of water – Bournda Lagoon and Bondi Lake.


 


Location – the Bournda National Park – on Bournda Road off Sapphire coast road – 19 minutes north of Merimbula, 13 minutes south of Tathra.

Swimming – Bournda Beach is a good swimming beach, however care should be taken as it’s unpatrolled, with a strong rip towards the north of the beach.

Fishing –
the inlet and the sandbar are popular with local fishermen. Bream, snapper, mullet, and flathead are caught in the area. Best location is near Bournda Lagoon. Best time around dawn and dusk.

Picnic area – the end of the Bournda Road is a good size car park with picnic area, toilet and rainwater tank. 5 – 10 minute walk to the beach
