North Tura Beach – Sapphire Coast NSW

North Tura Beach is a 3km east facing beach, north of Merimbula and approx. 20 minutes south of Tathra. With open unprotected wind breaks, the beach is a popular swimming and fishing area..


Where is North Tura Beach? – 22 km’s south of Tathra, along the Sapphire Coast drive. 4kms north of Merimbula. There are two main entrances – from Headland Drive and Bournda Circuit, through the township of Tura itself. The other entry is through the Bournda National Park, Widgeram Road off sapphire Coast drive

Swimming – The beach receives waves averaging 1.5 m, can be great surfing location. It’s a wide  open beach with great swimming opportunities. Rips can be deadly and it’s best to swim in groups.

Fishing – Great onshore fishing and bait catching opportunities. Surf fishing is supreme throughout the beach, with Mulloway, Australian Salmon, Luderick, and Flathead the most popular caught
